Welcome to Grimwych! We look forward to co-writing a community story with you!
Start by reading this wiki entry on the Grimwych world and its lore. This will help you understand what your character understands upon spawning in the Grimwych Lake of Life.
Please consider the world and its lore in connection with the applicable Rules. But also, consider that Grimwych is a small community principally composed of played characters, meaning that friendships and alliances between played characters are very important. You may want to be mindful of that dynamic in designing a character whose traits and background world may, or may not, make it easier for them to navigate the existing Grimwych community.
Once you've settled on who your character is and where they came from, you should feel free to ask someone to roleplay. You don't have to make small talk, you can simply tell to Name ooc Hey, do you have any interest in a roleplay? The other person, once they see your message, should be encouraged to respond honestly with their availability. "I'm not feeling it right now" is a perfectly good answer, and good RP etiquette means the person asking should be totally comfortable if the person they ask isn't up for it or doesn't respond for whatever reason.
Ask early and often after logging on! The Grimwych admin team encourages all of us to create a culture of collegiality and initiating roleplay.
If you enter a tile where a roleplay appears to be ongoing, it is a common courtesy to ask the people in that scene whether it's a private roleplay or open to one more.
Use the Map and the rpjoin and rpinvite commands to get around.
Use the me command. That's it. You can type your post directly into the submit line, which uses HTML, or use the Big talk, which doesn't. For example, me stands quite still, gazing directly at the moon becomes Character stands quite still, gazing directly at the moon.
Some people roleplay using Mail. If that's what you're doing, it's good practice to work out in tells with your roleplay partner(s) when you expect to update the mail thread, that way everyone's expectations are managed.
Feel free to share roleplay logs via in-game Mail or Google document with Morgane.
Participate, but also keep up with, the community story. Read logs that interest you from the Wiki, and follow along your favorite characters' journals. Keep roleplaying.
These are submitted roleplay scenes involving your current character. Approval applies to the exact revision shown. If the scene is edited, approvals are reset and the new revision must be reviewed again.
Optional. One image per wiki page. Use a normal http or https image URL.
Letters, numbers, spaces and dashes only.
