World & Lore

Welcome to the Grimwych World & Lore page! On this page we hope to showcase the community story that we are telling. This page will be updated on a rolling basis.

Enter ... Grimwych

Imagine coming to and finding yourself at a mysterious lake outside an abandoned village. You've never seen this place before, and you have no recollection of coming here either. The buildings here seem to be long in a state of disrepair for the most part. The village, it turns out, is called Grimwych, and there appears to be no way of leaving.

Oh yeah ... Did we mention that you aren't alone?

What do the characters of Grimwych know so far?

The characters of Grimwych know that magic is real but may function unpredictably here. They also know that others have arrived here, in Grimwych. Some of these characters may know each other from prior worlds, but there appears to be no clear explanation for why everyone has arrived here, in Grimwych. Nor is there a clear explanation for why nobody appears to be able to leave.

So what now?

Community. Relationship building. Friendships. Family. Alliances. Memories. And yes, maybe, just maybe, a little bit of sense-making with a dash of mystery solving. What is this place, and why are its inhabitants long gone? What was the purpose of the shrine on the hill, or the watchtower by the lake? Why does the train station lead to nowhere?
